Where can I purchase a female connector that will match the male connector shown in the attached photo? I need one that I can attach a 12 gauge wire.

Re: Wiring Harness Connector
OK, let's talk Terminology. This is a '56 series connector, the plastic part. The metal end on the wire is a terminal, commonly known as a "56 series" (year of design or introduction I believe) the GM part number for the pictured item plastic was most likely 2977514, and the original terminal part number would have been 2965935. A more recent version would be part number 12010055, which would be 100% interchangable. If you have a friend in a GM parts counter at the dealership, you might be able to talk hin into digging out his treasure trove of dealership electrical kits used in the service bay.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: Wiring Harness Connector
Bill, thanks for the information, but now I am confused. Is P/N 12010055 the male or female connector? Or both? I need to crimp a spade-type terminal onto a 12 gauge power wire. I assume that I purchase a multi-pack of spade terminals and crimp one onto the 12 gauge power wire, then insert it into the connector where it locks into place?
Where would I purchase P/N 12010055?- Top

Re: Wiring Harness Connector
Joe, the connector you have pictured (the plastic part) is called a female connector because the terminal that goes inside it as a "56 series" (year of original design) female terminal. As I suggested, I'd start by making nice to the oldest parts guy you can find at your local chevy dealership. Next would be the oldest non-chain auto parts house in your town if there are any left.Bill Clupper #618- Top
