    65-66 steering couplings

Are these statements correct? "The 65-66 standard steering coupling upper flange is bolted to the rag" (per 65 JG). "The 65-66 telescopic steering coupling upper flange is rivited to the rag" (65 JG does not state this, so you assume it's bolted same as the standard).

I believe this is a 65-66 telescopic steering coupling. It was on my standard steering 65. Now I need to find the correct one for my car and sell this one.

    Thanks for the input.

Are you sure your car didn't have tele originally? Your statements are correct.

Is there a way to tell if the car originally had a telescopic column?. It has a standard column now.

I don't know if they're interchangable but the lower support bracket for a standard column has the odometer reset cable knob pointing straight down, for the tele. column it points towards the driver.

Bill, There really is no way to tell. What Jim says about the bracket is correct however it is easy for some one to have changed although I don't know why they would. Now if your car has both the bracket and the coupler, then I would say there is a good chance it may have had a tele.
