    K H Boltons Revisited

I have seen much discussion about the 67 bolton wheels and could use your help on an issue concerning them. In 1976/77 there were some reproductions made by a group called Korvette House. The wheels had K H embossed on the backside of the wheels. I have a mint set of them I would like to use on my 67 but I have mounting issues. The GM retainers that hold the starbursts on will not allow for the proper indexing of the fins between the wheel and the starbust. Does anyone remember these wheels? There was a special retainer that was issued later to index the starbursts correctly. Does anyone know how it differed from the GM issue? Does anyone have one of the later released retainers?
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Thomas,

I have the 1986+- Corvette America repro bolt on's and the retainers in the starbursts will allow the starburst to be moved to any position provided the indexing slots line. The retainers bite a circular metal piece that's bolted to the wheel center.

If you have a camera and get a picture someone may be able to help more. If you need a picture of the area I am talking about give me a day and I'll get one for you.

      Timothy,
Thanks for the reply. The issue only applies to the wheels I mentioned in my thread. I am not aware of any other reproductions that had this indexing issue. The wheels were made in 1976/77 by K-H REPRODUCTIONS of Natick, Massachusetts and later sold through Automotive Enterprises of 2106 Park Avenue Terre Haute, Indiana. Automotive Enterprises ads state " Our 1967 Bolt-on sets include 4 wheels, lugs, GM center caps, and specially machined retaining rings. These special rings locate the center cap in the correct position on the wheel. Non-modified rings offered elsewhere set the cap approx. 3/8" from it's correct position. It would cost you $10.00 to $15.00 each to have your stock retaing rings modified." These are the retaining rings I need help with if any one has a set or knows what they looked like.
