if you mean the entire fiberglass flapper ass. from the rest of the heater, remove the fresh air cable , take out the six 1/4" head screws and pry gently, if you are installing the new c central flapper, you must destroy the old one, cut the shaft with a die grinder and a small cut off wheel on the top and bottom, watch out and don't cut your fingers or any fiberglass- Top

Or,,,,, Remove the old material from the flapper. Clean everything and paint. Close flapper and note where it contacts the housing. Now install a liner made of Velcro with adhesive to the inside of the housing and you have a new sealing surface without cutting anything. With the hose installed, who will know?- Top
