    Car Trailer

A couple of weeks ago at the National meet in San Diego, a guy from Texas and his daughter(?) brought their midyear for judging..... the enclosed car trailer that they used was very cool...... it had a low ceiling height - only about 6 to 7' high and had a drop-down side panel to get in and out of the car....... it also had a "V" nose and was about 20' long...... the car fit the trailer perfectly cutting down on excess trailered weight/mass.....

I'm trying to find out who manufacturers this trailer for I might be interested in buying one...... does anyone know this guy or familiar with this brand of trailer......?

    Thanks....

I think the person you are referring to is Clark Kirby. I would email him.

I don't know the trailer you are referring to but it sounds like a Trailex. In any event trailex is a premier all aluminum trailer and worthy of consideration. Most people don't see the value in them as they are price shoppers and Trailex trailers are not for the budget minded. Take a look at www.trailex.com. I've had mine for 11 years and 30,000 miles and it is still like new. Most likely its resale value is equal to what i paid for it.

Trailex advertises in the Driveline. Page 60 and 86 of the May/June adition. Their contact information is there.

                FWIW:
I have had a trailer somewhat similar to the above. It it 102" wide and 7' high. It is 18' in length. All I haul are Camaro's and Corvettes. It is a
United Trailer in which I specked out years ago. (Bought New)Jerry MacNeish Certification 69 Camaro Z28 001.jpgIt has been a very good trailer. Below is the picture of it. (Yes that is Jerry MacNeish) with

Garry, that trailer must be mine since my 18 year old daughter was with me, we are from Texas, and I noticed no other trailer there like mine at the NCRS National convention.

It is a 2005 Trailex "Sports Car' Trailer. New, they sell today with all the accessories, for about $18,000! I looked a long time before I found this "used" trailer. But, in late 2010 I found, through this forum, a Corvette collector in far East Texas with one for sale. It is very light, for an enclosed trailer, since it has an aluminum frame (like a Corvette ZR-1!).

It does NOT have the usual "ramp door" at the rear. The rear door and the side door are what Trailex calls "awning doors". They both swing up, something that is useful for shade and rain protection. In regard to the rear door, a set of two ramps are stored under the trailer. Each side of the "V nose" has an access door, but these two doors open to the side rather than up.

If you are looking for the best, get one of these. It is the ultimate in exclusivity due to their price. You can read about my daughter's and my NCRS adventure on the forum under "Home from National Convention".
