this is the tip of the day.
next time you have to replace your battery (and thereby loose window settings, clock, etc), BEFORE disconnecting it from the posts, connect a small 12 volt motorcycle battery to the battery cables with alligator clips (modern racing cars have an extra spade at each terminal to facilitate this) so that there's uninterrupted (not even for a nano second!)supply of 12 volt current to all systems. After hooking up the new battery, detach the auxiliary power source and you're done. Simple, huh? I suspect that this is how dealers do it, so they don't have to take the extra time to do all resets.
