    1968 Carpet

Is it true that the original carpets in the C-2's were "Preformed?"

    Thanks,

    Bob

    Hi Bob.

Hmmm. Your thread is titled "1968 Carpet", which leads me to expect a question on early C3 carpeting. When I open it, the thread is asking about original C2 carpets. I suspect you really meant C3 in the body of the thread, but thought I'd ask for clarity and to give your thread a bump to the top.

    Hope this helps...

I had the opportunity to visit Al Knoch's factory a few days ago to order my '67 carpet set. He brought out several original '67 carpets, and yes they were preformed then. And he has an elaborate machine that goes it the same way today for the replacement sets, including the "correct" stitching if you want it.

            Hi Bob,
In addition to the 2 front pieces, the piece for each of the rear wheel housings were preformed too.
            Regards,
            Alan

Is the VIN less than 401600? Is your current carpet not pre-formed?

Vin is over your number....The carpet in the car is a replacement, so, wither way, I can't be sure

                    Thanks,
