Gentlemen I found a correct A/C compressor and a correct A/C muffler to replace a failed unit, i had both restored. Who would know whatt the proper bolts are 2 for the back of the compressor that bolts the muffler to it? Appreciate any input Bryan Hepper 42470

Not exactly certain of the bolt(s) you need, but the compressor rear manifold/muffler is bolted to the compressor with only a special, single bolt. Checkout Long Island Corvette Supply (LICS) #35-12D. If this is not it, they have all the other compressor mounting/attaching bolts as well.

I have wondered about this too. On the AIM page (C60-D7 for 1965, C60-D8 for 1967), the diagram shows "Bolt & L. Washer (Existing)" with a torque value of 17-33 Lbs/Ft, and shows another bolt, LW and FW (items 25, 24 & 23 respectively) going into the same hole as the "Existing" bolt.
I believe this means that the existing bolt is to be removed on the assembly line and replaced with Item 25 Bolt, GM 120677 (same bolt p/n used for 64-67), I'm just not sure why the "Existing Bolt" needed replacing. The "Existing Bolt" was used for 1963, but beginning in the 1964 AIM, GM 120677 Bolt is substituted for the "Existing Bolt".
My (1967) bolt from this location is 3/8-24 x 1-1/2" regular hex, Cad or zinc.- Top

Bryan - Page is correct. The existing bolt used to secure the plate bolted to the back end of the compressor that covers the port holes is not designed (too short) to attach the muffler to the back of the compressor. My experience is that the bolt, p/n 120677, used to attach the muffler to the back of the compressor on mid-year Corvettes has a WB (no lines) headmarking although I have seen it and others on various Chevrolet C60 system. Please note that there is also a "special" plain washer that is very thick and a split ring lock washer on the attaching bolt. Pete- Top
