Happy Birthday to my 63 today

49 today and counting. Hope both it and I make it to its' 50th birthday next year. Believe that's the longest I have owned anything. Afraid I've fallen short of my target of 1000 miles per year by nearly 5000 miles, but this Florida heat and my health have slowed us down.

Stu, happy birthday to your car,I wish I was able to buy a new corvette in 63, but then again I would only be 9 yrs. old. Maybe next year you and the car can make it to carlisle for the cars 50th birthday. I am willing to bet it maybe the biggest numbers for these 63 cars.I wonder if they ever kept track of the numbers for each year?

Congratulations to you and your Vette, Stu! My '65 and I are also enduring the South Florida heat and humidity so, like you, we are averaging a little short of 1,000 miles per year. However, we are lucky that we can drive our cars all year long . I was born 2 months after my topless girlfriend back in '65 (although my cougar and I have only been together since '08), so we are going to celebrate our respective 50th's together in just under 3 years from now! Happy birthday, and I hope you and your gal enjoy many more years together!!

Thanks for your kind words and thoughts. The Carlisle idea sounds good. I'll have to run it by my son as we'd probably have to trialer the car there. We've done it before with his 08 Pace Car, and will again this fall up to Charlotte for another of their (pace car) functions.

Yes Roger, our Florida weather has it's way controlling our Vette rides. I still have to do a IFR temp study on mine for Duke's data base relative to "hot soak" and associated percolation problems with our SHP engines in the summer. My data will probably be influenced by my use of Non-Ethanol gas and my cool carb mods.

I'm a little embarrassed. For many years I had calculated my cars birthday as being on the 10th, but it was the 623rd car built in July which, at 117.4/day production rate, works out to being on the 9th (5.3 days). The documentation I got from NCRS confirms this (the 9th), but I still keep the 10th in my mind. Hope my car wasn't too upset at me for missing it's birthday wish by one day this year. Rick Alshire's thread about his #367's birthday today got me to thinking and digging out my book.

Hi Stu and many happy returns are sent for your baby! Last I saw her, she sure looked proud! Somehow, I can't help but think your '63 keeps you on your toes and in better shape than you'd otherwise be.

If you are indeed headed to Carlisle, send me a PM and let me know of your details. Would love to meet up with you and Brian there. Been a while and I'd love to visit. I'll definitely be there this year. Missed Carlisle due to other obligations last year and spent the whole time daydreaming about what I was missing.
