    C1 carb overheat

    I have a 59 with a rebuilt matched block with dual carbs. Operating temps by gauge 175 to 180 (I'm told gauge reads high by IR gun). Temps can increase by gauge to 210 when in stop and go or after stopping. When warm, idle speed slows to 500 and the engine dies. I can keep it running if I give it some gas to move tach above 1000+. I was told that I was boiling fuel in the carb(s). Moved the floats with slight help only. Any suggestions or fixes?

    try blocking the exhaust heat riser crossover in the intake manifold and wire open the heat riser valve

      Fuel percolation causing and excessively rich mixture. You have an IR gun? Help the cause by taking some temperature readings and posting them here:
