    R89S Or R89W Battery Replacement

Looking to replace battery om my 71. Don't know anything about Restoration Batteries but learned can buy a group 74 battery and place replica Delco top on it with proper caps. Has anyone tried this and if not any recommendations on replacement battery correct for judging? The car is a benchmark potential candidate. Thanks

Restoration Batteries can help you. Google Restoration Baatteries for info

R89W is the heavy duty battery.

      Seth,

I put one in my '75 and am very happy with it. It's a gel battery and it's smaller than the casing, so it has a bit of a hollow sound to it. Also much lighter. In fact I'm gonna get on for my '58 Buick next!

Seth, I brought a 89w for my 72 it was the heavy duty model restoration battery, Which from a judging stand point is more correct for the 70/72 era. my understanding is that the 89s has a few more points deducted.

Seth, be sure to read the battery section in the 1970-72 JG regarding configuration differences in reproduction 89S and 89W batteries.
