1994 LT1 Intake Manifold Casting Number

I have an early build 1994 LT1 w/automatic. This is a a very low mile one owner car with no modifications. Built November of 1993. The intake casting manifold number is 10108630. My question here is that the judging manual shows this number as an LT1 from 1995.... I do not think this is correct. Two intake manifold casting numbers are listed for 1994 and neither appears correct... any ideas here?

Bill, thanks I got the photo. I have an early (2nd Day of Production-August 94) 1995 and I have the same intake as you do -10108630.

Looking at the 94-96 Judging Manual I can see that for the year 1994 intake 10128327 is the same number for a 1996 LT4. I am not even going to offer a guess on this one.

Also that the 1994 10108476 is the same for a 1995 LT1.

Anyone else out there with some information would be appreciate.

Thanks.... no changes are planned... several searches on the internet come up with the 10108630 number as correct for 92 - 96 LT1 cars.....

Bill, on page 122 it shows the block number for a 1994 LT1 as 10125327, real close to 10128327. Is this what you are talking about?

Yes that is the one... I wondered about the 8 vs. the 5.... more than one time I have read a 5 as an 8 and vice versa... easy to do... I wonder if that is the case here....

The judging manual (pg 142) calls for intake manifold casting numbers of 10108476 or 10128327 for the 1996 LT1. The manual says the casting number for the water pump (on pg 172) for LT1 (and LT4) is 10128327 - would both parts have the same number or is one number in error? My low mileage 96 LT1 has water pump no 10128327 and the intake plenum carries casting number 12552138 - I have not seen that number mentioned before.

I have attached pics of both parts. Anyone have thoughts of what numbers are correct? To what extent should the manual be updated?

Jim, thanks for the observation of the similar number for the water pump and the intake manifold.

My 1995 has the same water pump number 10128327 as yours. From the photo you can see the last number of 7 has sort of gone its way. Above the casting number you can make out a blur of a number, that is some type of inspection stamp. What is interesting is that I was able to obtain many years ago the warranty work documentation on my Corvette and found out that in 2000 the water pump was rebuild by the dealership and they kept the old housing and just replace parts that came in a kit.

I have found no one advising that they have a manifold intake of your number. We know that the Judging Manual is incorrect in this section and with input such as yours and other Forum members we can help in making corrections for the next Judging Manual.

I will try and find out if anyone else has that number.

For your general information, when issues such as this come up on the Forum, I have been forwarding them to Tom Barr, the National Team Leader for his review.

I will forward your information and photo to Tom.

Jim, in searching the INTERNET on your intake manifold number 12552138, I found three references and they stated "Part Number 12552138 - Intake Manifold-
265 CID (I don't know about this) 93-96 Chevrolet MFI L-99 LT1 Style 4.3L V8.

That is what I have found to date on the general information area.

A Reference shows the L-99 to be a 260 CID and it was introduced in 1994 for the Caprice.

Guys, my 8K mile 96 LT4's water pump has the same number as you all, 10128327. My intake manifold number is 12550631. Both are guaranteed original.
