There are probably a few of those cars still out there...according to this same book I referenced earlier they said Chevrolet supplied the show with a new car every 3000 miles and they went through about 4 per season. It would be cool if there were some records that would have shown the vin for those cars. As for why they changed cars every season, Chevy was the main sponsor and they wanted to sell new cars every year.

I don't think they really ever used a 64. Maybe, but the show had to be filmed early and the cars may not have been released yet. I now they used a 63 that was converted to look like a 64 for close or interior shots in the last season. They may have had others but that one was really a 63 with some 64 appointments.

Possibly, but I don't see why Chevrolet would have a problem getting 64 Corvettes for a TV show where they are the primary sponsor. They were selling a lot of cars due to this TV show. There are a couple color pictues on the internet that clearly show a saddle tan 64 Corvette with with Martin Milner, Glenn Corbett and Joan Crawford leaning against it. That episode, "Same Picture, Different Frame" aired in October 1963...should be plenty of time from the start of production to have a real 64 Corvette available for shooting. Besides, why go through the trouble of switching hoods, hub caps, seats, instrument cluster, steering wheel, and rocker moldings for a close-up? For 22 episodes in that final year, I bet they had real 64 Corvettes.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with Martin Milner, George Maharis or Glenn Corbett. To see what they remember about what happened to the cars. Or where they were picked up from.

Very possible, but there was definitely a converted 63 used.

Marty is in a nursing home and in rough shape
George is 84 and still going strong
I don't think George would know anything about the cars.

For some reason I seem to remember reading that those cars were returned to St. Louis and sold as used cars at a dealership near the Corvette Plant. Maybe someone else can chime in and collaborate that.

The Corvettes used were St Louis Zone cars . When one was turned in another was given out . Because they belong to the Zone they could be auctioned , used by the zone or sold by the Chevrolet dealer accross the street from the plant.I had a Kansas City zone car for one year .A LT4 . I put about 20,000 miles on it . When it went back it was sold at auction as NEW because it was never titled . The Dealer next door To the plant in 1962 was Gene Jantzen Chevrolet 5434 Natural Bridge road . dealer code 03407 .Jentzen was sold to Bob Kaiser Chevrolet . Both dealers out of busness long ago . Somewhere I have photos of the dealer after it was closed . Bill

So would it be safe in saying if one had a C1 or C2 from that dealer in Fawn Beige or Saddle Tan ( since these colors were not popular) with a luggage rack that its possible that one of those cars could be a car used in the TV series? I would think that would increase it value to a collector. I remember one of the C1s having those after market spoke wheels. Could the NCM in Bowling Green give an owner needed info on their cars since cars were not titled in the early 1960s?
