Hi Clem. I'm not using Magic Jack, but Ooma. Both, I believe are voice over internet protocol (VOIP). With Ooma, cannot use a fax machine. I've used Ooma more than two years; after you buy the equipment there is never another charge for the basic service. I believe you pay a nominal annual fee with Magic Jack.
