    Carb

i'm under the impression that the edelbrock 1406 would replace the holly 3884505 3367 without any problem. Any input would be grateful. Thank you

    Morris,

I used an edlebrock 1406 while I had a correct 3367 rebuilt for my 66. I had no issues. One thing to note is the original aircleaner will not fit.

      Re: Carb

Morris make sure the carb your talking about will replace the 3367. Since you are changing your carb you take in account other factors that are involved. What intake manifold, having headers, gear ratio, cubic inch, and camshaft profile should be factors involved in finding the correct carb.

In addition to needing an aftermarket air cleaner, your original choke won't work any more, and neither will your fuel pump-to-carburetor fuel line; you'll have to rig up an electric choke, and fabricate a new fuel line.

Why do you want to change to an Edelbrock?

            Morris,

The original air cleaner will not fit the edlebrock, I suggest an edlebrock aircleaner. You will also have to deal with the vent tube on the manifold if yours is original. I need to make clear that when I used an edlebrock, it was only for a short time. In my case, I had a 3367 that developed severe leaks due to rotted o rings and I needed to replace the carb in an emergency situation. The edlebrock was all that was available at the local autozone parts store.

If it had been available, I would have purchased a compatible new across the counter holley, so my original air cleaner and fuel line could have been used. I would have preferred this option to maintain except for date codes the original configuration. If you are asking the question about using the edlebrock to use as a long term solution to the original 3367, yes it will work, but it is not a direct bolt on and will affect the underhood configuration of your car so it will not appear original.

                  Morris,

I believe the 3367 is also availabe new from some of the Corvette supply houses. Around $600 if I recall correctly.

                    Re: Carb

there are no direct replacement holley for your carb because of the the fuel inlet and the choke system. you will need to find a 3367 if you want a direct bolt up. you can use the original 3367 primary float bowl but you will need a electric choke for any other holley

You CAN buy a 3367 with proper finish-not chrome like racing carbs(but not dated) new Holey 3367 from Holley's distributor in Op Alabama, of all places. It's called wholesale parts warehouse or something like that. You can call Holley's main number and they can give you the tel no. to place in Op. Carb has some improved features-hex heads instead slotted screw heads on bowl screws.Carb will be a direct fit, using all your fittings and choke but If you want it to be entireky "NCRS", there are some people who can do this for you.
