Never thought this part would be so difficult to find...

Of all the pieces I thought would be hard to locate - but weren't...

7028046 Fuel Vapor Canister Drain Cap (#7) and 3974797 Drain Hose (#12).

Tried the usual suspects and several Corvette salvage yards. I know it was also used on other pre-73 GM applications.

GM #3974797 was never available from GM in SERVICE.The GM #7028046 was once available in SERVICE but was discontinued without supercession in February, 1993.

Interested in a used part? I've found good, no GREAT success with Gale Gee (Gee's Auto Sales) in Middlebury Center, PA. Phone number: (570) 376-3421. Good people. Always @ Carlisle and eager to help, no matter how big/small the sale.

I saw in the 1971 AIM that a change on 5/22/70 has the canister part # as 7026045, but I'm just looking for the drain cap.
