Rust on birdcage door openings 1972 coupe?

    I am looking to buy a 1968-1972 C3.
I got some pictures of a 1972 Coupe for sale. Nice car and a nice price.

I have only seen pictures of the car since this the car is located far from where i live.

But i do not like what i see on the birdcage over the door tag on this picture.

What do you think about rust issues on the birdcage?

From experience with rust issues of a C3 I would recommend that the outside windshield molding (both sides and top) is removed to inspect the framework of the windshield.

If you have windshield rust, the leak may also have effected the #2 mounts. Suggest you remove the cover over the #2 body mount (hinge pillar) and inspect that mount (both sides).

David. I agree i will have a look behind the radio panels and if the seller says it is okay pull off some of the inner moldings around the windshield frame
Somebody told me that the weatherstrip in the doors(where the rust shows)is not correct for this car and it is supposed to go further down(the twisted weatherstripping)on the post and perhaps somebody took it off and some paint came off with the glue?
Does it look like the edges on the fenders have been sanded?

Here is a picture of the VIN and that looks good except that the molding on the viper panel and front fenders trim is missing

But i have also found a 1968 coupe that looks great
