That is how I got the other glass assembled. It didn't work with this side. I tried pushing one end on with the clamp and tapping with my mallet but was not successful. The other glass had a very slight bevel on the bottom edge, otherwise I see no differences.- Top

Are you sure the bottom track has not been crushed a little? I had lots of trouble getting my 60 side window replacement glass into the stainless surround, but don't recall having a big problem getting the bottom track with the drip rubber on. I would suggest trying to find a thin piece of hardwood, e.g. oak, maple slightly thicker than the glass and drive it into the groove in the track (without the rubber trough in) to slightly spread out the track.
I would do that before I tried to mess to much with the glass. I just had to order another windshield, I crack the first one trying to get the assembly together
