I found a thread in the Archives that mentioned America's Finest Corvettes is currently producing a reproduction fan shroud and extension piece for BB copper radiator cars. This part is missing from my '69 L36 w/o A/C. The AIM lists part number 3956089 as does my 53-74 Corvette Parts Catalog.
Many of the usual repro parts vendors carry a reproduction part that is described as "69-72 Corvette 014 AC FAN SHROUD EXTENSION 3974014 - big block 427 454 a/c." This reproduction part bears the "3974014" part number and a logo that looks like a "J" in a circle that is surrounded by a hexagon. I can not find this part number in any of the sources I have and I'm pretty sure it's not correct for my car.
When I emailed the folks at America's Finest Corvettes to enquire about the part number and logo that appears on their extension, they said "Sorry our extensions have no markings".
Now I'm confused (not so unusual these days) - does an original 3956089 Fan Shroud Extension have the part number and/or any other markings stamped on it?
