I remember 1964 and "Dead Man's Curve" too well.

Dick, helped restore Jan's 58 Corvette, it was in MUCH better condition than the Stingray! It was slightly scorched in the BelAir canyon fire but was fixed up, lost the house though. It's still sitting in Los Angeles last I heard from owner. Gee, how much for the 'fixer'?

That's why I asked Dick if he had found it and that picture was it. I have seen numerous threads on this over the last decade, in many Corvette forums, and it seems no one knows for sure where it is now. One speculated it was sold as an original, unmolested numbers matching car at BJ in the '90s. That would be interesting, but really just funny. It seems the VIN is known, from the DMV records on the black plate shown in the photos.
