Color for 327 dip stick

Hi All;

Need to know the color of the oil dip stick and oil dip stick guide. Read some say no paint and then i hear chevy orange for both. This is for a 327 L79 350 HP June 1968

The dipstick and tube were natural steel. Absolutely no chance for engine orange on any portion of them as the dipstick and tube were installed at St. Louis long after the engines were painted at the engine plant.
