    Help me if you can.
Can anyone tell me what the date code on this fan clutch translates to.
    Thanks much.

OK, I figured it out. September 14, 1961.
    Thanks.

I didnt know that 1961 fan clutches were date coded.
This one has a n unusual configuration.
Was this removed from your car?

Yes, it was original...early 1962 model Eaton...was rebuilt and I had forgotten how to decode the date...went back to the '61-'62 TIMJG and found the answer.
I think its very correct for an early 1962 vette.

          Bill,

I believe you are correct. Refer to the link below. Maybe my "L26G" stamped fan clutch is dated December 26, 1966 instead of November 26, 1966 since the letter "I" was used in the date code. The letter "I" was not used on Schwitzer fans made in the late 1960's and early 1970's ("M" = Dec.).

Bill, I believe mine on my early 62 looks like yours, but no numbers on it. It has never been off of the car (#0029). My camera will not take a good picture of it. I can see it with a light and a mirror. The head judge at the Frisco meet last fall took a lot of pictures after judging. For the life of me I can't remember his name.
