'96 ECM part number difference

Had my '96 Flight Judged this past weekend at the Dallas/FW Area Chapter event, and one of the comments on the chassis scoring sheet was related to the ECM part number. Mine is showing a part number 16131501, versus 16181333 in the Tech manual. Any ideas as to the difference?
BTW, kudos to the event team for a fantastic event, my first time getting the car judged, and came away with a Top Flight!

Paul, I don't know, but the manual and my 96 LT4 are at odds, too. The manual says it should be 16230041, whereas my guaranteed original reads 16214399.

Pat, I supplied what I thought should be a change in the Judging Manual over 18 months ago and that was that the Chevrolet Parts Manual Section 3.670 calls for the 1996 part number should be 16214399, same as yours. Also I had photographed a 1996 LT1 with 4,500 miles on it and it had Part Number 16214399.

Also I suggested that from my research that part number 16181333 may only apply to the 94-95 LT1 Corvette.

Guess the changes have not filtered down to the Chapter Level yet.

Paul, what do you have, an LT1 or an LT4?

Pat I judged a 96 LT4 last weekend at Miami Valley chaper meet it also had 16214399 on it found a few other numbers that was different also

GM #16131501 is the part number for some sort of instrument cluster assembly, not a PCM.

GM #16181333 is the PCM for 1994-95 Corvettes and GM #16214399 is the part number for the PCM for 1996 Corvettes. However, these are SERVICE part numbers and may not be the same as PRODUCTION part numbers. For items like PCM's PRODUCTION and SERVICE part numbers are often different (although not always different).

My son's 1996 LT1 is also 16214399.

Folks, here is a photo of the ECM on a 1996 LT1 with 4500 miles on it.

No changes have been made to this 1996. It is the original ECM and the VIN is in the 9600 range.

Note that preceding the 16214399 it is printed "SERV. NO.". This means "SERVICE NUMBER". This tells us that one of two things apply here:

1) The SERVICE and PRODUCTION part numbers are the same.

OR

2) The SERVICE part number is 16214399 and the PRODUCTION part number is not specified on the part. In this case, the SERVICE part number would be provided to assist in the replacement with a correct unit if replacement becomes necessary and the PRODUCTION number is irrelevant.

As far as judging is concerned, it's really a moot point (with one possible caveat) because what should be on the label is exactly what is shown on your label. The caveat is that it's possible that if the PRODUCTION and SERVICE part numbers were different, some cars could possibly have a label that specifies only the PRODUCTION part number.

I would suggest the 1501 was used on LT-4s maybe and the 3333 on the LT-1.
