Re: Original cam
I've used Crane repro camshafts for 25+ years with excellent results. Since the change I'm not sure what all they have available as far as in stock, but know they still build the 375/425/435, 1st design L88, 2nd design L88/ZL1/LS7 camshaft. In smallblocks I've used their 097, 30/30, and L79 camshafts in the past. Summit racing has a good bit of their stuff on the shelf for immediate shipment, but I've had some difficulty with their phone guys getting the right part number, especially on the big block stuff. For some reason Crane's books as well as the GM Performance parts catalogues lists the L88 as 435 horsepower and that seems to confuse everybody. I've gotten the 1st design L88 camshaft by mistake twice now when ordering a L78 camshaft. I finally found my old Crane book that's got part numbers that they don't have on the newest disc I have, and it's fairly complete.
