Valve cover decals

Hello, What was the first year the horsepower decals were applied to the aluminum valve covers? I do not have them on my 1957, 270hp engine per the judging manual, however at a recent show I was confronted by a few "Corvette Experts" that stated that they were first applied on the 1957 model. As always your input and information is greatly appreciated. Thank you, John

I'm pretty sure they were not used in 1957, but I could be wrong.

First used in 1958 according to the parts catalogs, on both steel and finned aluminum valve covers.
