    1969 427 spark plug wiring

I have a set of spark plug wires which came off a friends car in the early 70's. He said they were good, however I see tape on one of the plug terminals. Do these have any value or should they be tossed? Have a good weekend!
    Regards

John, the braiding is worth keeping. The braiding on the repro wires differ from the originals

      John,
Dig out your OHM meter and check the resistance of each wire. I think resistance of less than 1K per foot is good, if this is wrong somenoe here will correct me. Back to the garage! Bill

John -- I see white woven tape (like an adhesive bandage) about 1/2" wide at the junction of the braid and the black wire, near the terminal. I'm guessing it might have been a guide on how far the braid was to be positioned back of the terminal [varies according to where it's designed to go on the distrib cap]. Don't have original factory wires, but I've seen these on early '80's GM service sets that I have.
