This question is not as much about how to install the rebound straps on the rear of the C-1's .
I have not installed the rebound straps on my completed 1954 frame - and it will be some time before I mount the body giving the extra weight to compress the springs. It seems to me that having to compress the rear springs and then riviting up the straps that when all is said and done the rear axle will be keeping the straps in quite a bit of tension until weight is added thus releaving the tension.
My question is - are there any drawbacks to having the belts in tension for an extended peroid of time or should I wait until closer to the time I set the body down to rivit the straps. Also wondering about the springs themselves.
orrrrr am I concerned about nothing here??
appreciate what others have done.
Thanks,
John Lanning
