"The Corvette Restorer" on CD - PC compatability

Does anyone know if older versions of the subject CD are compatible with Windows 7 operating system?

Haven't looked at my CD version 33.4 (2007) in quite awhile and can't seem to get my fairly new laptop to run it.

    Any help will be appreciated.

do you have problems "opening / running" other CDs? reason I ask, you may need to go into your BIOS and allow the CD to be run or some other such setting - just guessing here as I do not normally use Micro**** OS

      Thanks, Rick,

No problem running other CDs. Am now able to open the CD but when I click on "Topics" or "Issues", I get screens that have nothing listed, even though the screens are titled as selected by names.

According to Help Desk, it may have to do with Access drivers, but this is starting to get over my head, technically.

Larry...try this thread from a few years ago...the new one is entirely different and runs just fine...but the old one had compatibility issues with Vista and Windows 7

Larry, drivers were going to be my response after your response to my initial email - but, appears Vinnie has provided a link that should help you get to the bottom of your problem

Thanks for everyone's help/suggestion. Got out my older Windows XP laptop and am now able to access topics and restorer issues, albeit much slower than my newer laptop with Windows 7.

This setup will work for now.

I would expect you could run the older DVD in the compatibility mode. (right click on the icon and select Properties, then select the Compatibility tab in the appearing dialogue. Then tick box to select Windows XP in the dropdown listbox (I don't now the English text next to the tick box because I run a Dutch version of Windows 7).

I haven't tried this solution yet but I would expect this to work... You can also select 256 colors, 640x480 resolution and change some other settings...

IIRC they are DVD's and not CD-ROM's. Best to inquire with a Help Desk ticket and Eric will respond.

Larry, what version of Adobe Reader are you using? Try the cd with AR 9. The latest version of Adobe Reader (10) on my HP Windows 7 computer had problems with the NCRS DVD. I went back to Adobe Reader 9 and the problems went away. Same with my Intel iMac running Snow Leopard - a switch back to AR 9 and it was working fine. (BTW my iMac using OS X PREVIEW has got real problems reading and searching the DVD - no problems if AR 9 is used.)

                    David,

now that you say you are having problems with iMac, will have to see if I can read in Ubuntu or not
