Ditributor ID tag

I have a '69 L-36 (427/390) with a distributor in it with the ID band displaying these numbers; 1111069, 3E31. The 1st set of numbers don't match up to any numbers in my judging manual. The date code could be a '63 or a '73 May 31. If some one could identify this distributor for me I would appreciate it.

James -- your '069' is a service distributor. The original 1111069's were only installed on late '64 and '65's with solid lifters. I too have a service 069, bought from a GM dealer in early '80s, with band dated 0_D_23, which could be 1980, and it is anodized red on both sides.

1111069 was discontinued sometime between Jan. 1982 and Jan. 1990 as per GM Parts History.

I know this has nothing to do with James concern, but just an FYI, reproduction bands are a duller silver and slightly thicker in width. Again, just an FYI.
