    67 date code fonts?

Does anyone know the font and character size for the date code on the tire tub and/or the foil compressor decal for a 67?
    Thanks

    Neal ,

I don't know about the tire tub, however I am sure you can find it in the archives somewhere.

The compressor label, I am told is : "The font is Courier, and the size is about 15 point."

      Neal,

I found a different font on the tub, then on the tub lid, both just a hair under a 1/4" height on my June 29th 67. Maybe you can identify the font from the photos below.

Photo 1, the tub stamp, the guy must have had a few brewski's for lunch, almost a double stamp.

Photo 2, the tub lid stamp, 5 days later. Probably not the same guy or stamp.

          Dallas,

You are right, the tub is March and the lid is May. The car is a late June AOSmith body.

I wonder if the lag between the tub and the lid is an AOSmith/St.Louis thing ? Seems odd if they were both put on around the same time.

Were both the tub and lid put on at AO Smith, or the lid added at St. Louis? Anyone?

The spare tire tub and tray were installed on the Frame Line at St. Louis while the frame was upside-down.

              John,

Oh yea, what was I thinking, only the bodies were done at AO Smith, nothing to do with the frame.

Would it be the norm to have a two month difference between the tub and the lid.

Probably not "typical", but considering the nearly non-existent inventory controls in place in the 60's (and the fact that nobody in the plant paid any attention to the dates on anything), it was certainly possible.
