    Judging Dual Roof Option 1995

I'm wondering if bringing both roofs is required for Flight Judging.....heres what the 94-96 Judging manual states.....

"If the car is equiped with an optional top, one may be stored inside the rear compartment. Judge only the top that is installed on the car, even though as an option the car came from the factory with two tops"

Guess my question has to do with the wording "may" be stored in the rear compartment.......So do I need to bring it or not?....just sound kind of vague in the manual.....Thanks Kevin

Thinking out loud here - was the car "delivered" with the second top in the stowed postion in rear compartment? If it was then would tend to think you need to bring it - guess Tom Barr NTL needs to chime in

Only one top is judged. If the convertible top is stowed and the car is presented with the hard top installed, the hard top is judged or you can leave the hard top home and have the rag top judged.

Russ, I think Kevin is refering to the option on coupes that got you both a solid and a clear top. The second top was delivered in the storage cradle in the back of the car. If required for judging, you would have a hard time driving your car to a meet. That second top takes up ALL of your storage area. Better travel light! Chip.

Paul, Gotcha! I was thinking of a convertible.

            Yes,

The car (ZR-1 coupe) came delivered with optional bronze tinted roof panel in the rear hatch area....it has never been installed on the car, still has factory paper wrapper on with written "ZR-1 #178" on it.....it does take up alot of room and don't really want to drag it along if it isn't part of the judging....Kevin

Kevin - I believe you only need one top on the car for judging. I am confident you will not lose judging points by leaving your optional top home. However if you want to be 100% sure, ask Tom Barr via a private message. Tom is the National Team Leader for the 1990-1996 cars. He will give you a straight answer.

I would agree with John and Russ. John also judged my car in Kissimmee this year and is very knowledgeable.

                    Kevin,

Have you contacted Tom Barr directly like I/others have suggested? He is the NTL and will tell you whether you should bring the extra roof or not. Again, the guidelines are we are to judge as it left the factory. Which, I believe the extra roof was in the rear compartment if ordered.

                        Kevin,

Checked with Tom Barr for you, and he said chose which top you want to be judged with. He said this was something he talked with Roy Sinor about some time in the past. Only one top needed to be present.
