    relay ID for C2 ?

I have the A/C out of my 63 & 67 and have had them apart for a long time.

In my box of parts I found a relay that looks like the A/C relay on the evaporator box under the hood.

I couldn't find the one that came off and thought this was it.

I only found this one and I ordered a new one but redid this one thinking it was stock.

BUT 40 or so years ago I may have put this on in place of one that was bad.It has 881-12V on it also stamped letters on the case H S on one side and S T on the other and is DELCO REMY.DSC00702.jpg DOM

Dom --- you need this one; 1116992. Used on all C2 air cars (I think). Notice they were even making them back in the old days with the black and orange Delco Box.

      Wayne,
I can see that now and the one I have looks similar except for the way the case is crimped.

The relay checks out and transfers power but I'll bet I replaced the original with this 40 years or so ago.

The one that I have looks older than the C2 period.

Thanks for the pics, I have a new replacement coming in and if they operate the same I may just use this on my 63 and use the new on my 67.

The old box in your pic brought back some memories at the parts counter.

This relay is a GM #1115881. It is the heater and blower cut-off relay for 1969-76 Corvettes with C-60. I can't find any C2 application for it but it may have had some such application.

          Joe,
          Thanks for solving the mystery.

Factory air was installed at the dealership in 1971 because it was not an option on the 435 HP as you know.

1969 to 1976 application fits that period so this was the relay that was probably used on my installation.
