I have the Corvette Central deluxe system for the high performance engines, the 270HP 2x4 carbureted and the high horsepower FI cars. However, my car is the 2x4 245HP engine. My questions relate to judging and what I can do to limit deducts and limit my spend.
First, the system is Aluminized, so I will automatically loose the 20% (or 4 originality points) from the standard deduct tables. I assume there is no way to eliminate this deduct without going to raw steel exhaust. Is this correct assumption?
Using CDCIF I assume I will loose at least another 20% (or 4 originality points) due to the configuration, e.g. round off-road mufflers instead of ovals, and exhaust cross-over instead of none. My question is, is will the deduct be 20% if the mufflers are wrong and there is a crossover, or is each of these incorrect configuration items counted separately?
If they are counted separately, I was considering buying the welded oval mufflers and putting them on, but I really didn't want to spend the extra to also replace the front exhaust pipes to eliminate the crossover.
Any judges out there who can help?
Thanks,
Don
