Which is the most rare /most valuable distributor for the 1957 Fuelie cars? I see that there is an unrestored 905 on ebay which is up to $2500 now

Re: !957 Fuel Injection Distributors
I saw that too. It's not in the completed list now as it's over 15 days since it ended. If you have the item number it can be recovered with that. I never saved it.
If you look at the photos of the one that sold a few weeks ago, and the one listed now...... 251048767481
it is the SAME distributor! I looked at both then and it's definitely the same one.
The new seller must have a big audience as it certainly got to be a hot item for his "favorite" customers.
edit......another one is on ebay now. item 110874743544

Re: !957 Fuel Injection Distributors
I am going to make a prediction on what the rarest fuel injection distributor will be years from now long after I/we are gone.
I should have worded this differently and had you guess. But instead of playing games here is my guess.
The '57 '906 will end up being the rarest of all as so many of them are being hacked up and converted into 905's.
The one that Richard pointed out to us on ebay right now is an early version of the '905. Meaning the casting number on the case is the same as an '889. So if you need an '889 this is the one to buy and change the tag. A '905 is reportedly better than an '889 as it has a o'ring between the case and top half where as the '889 does not.
The lack of an o'ring may cause oil leaks. JD- Top

Re: !957 Fuel Injection Distributors
John,
The 906 is single point right?
This 906 was converted to dual point. Is that what you mean? Because they get converted for the 283hp engines?

Re: !957 Fuel Injection Distributors
Richard, Very nice pics and distributor. Here is what is happening to those. Since they are bascially a low HP distributor guys are changing the top, the shaft, the cam, the points plate, etc and converting them to '905's. Thanks, John- Top
