I'm trying to track a Steel Cities Gray 71 LT-1 convertible (#2485) Sold new at Milner Chevrolet in St. Louis, has a 1977 Indiana inspection sticker on it, and was purchased at some point in time by a disinterested past owner out of an impound yard. He lived in Detroit area, didn't really try to remember where. Thought maybe Detroit, maybe Toledo. Top had been cut, and hood and top of motor had been stolen. TI harness cut about 12" from coil, so that fits with the type of theft. Soft top only, so no surprise it was cut for the theft. It apparently sat outside for a while with rain in the open motor and seat area of the interior. VIN is 19467S102485 I know it's gotten a lot tougher to run cars' history, but just hoping someone has resources that could help. I know of Bill Gould and auto ancestry--have him working on a 62 for me.
If you or someone you know has access to insurance/national theft records, I'd appreciate help. NCIC, NICB, or anywhere else that would be helpful.
Thanks,
Mike Ernst
