1970 Corvette and Bayliner boat package

Does anyone recall a package deal where in 1970 some new Corvettes and matching color Bayliner boats were offered at dealerships?

    Thanks,

Terry, I knew I was going out on a thin limb with that on but I promised to ask. Here is the copy of the email I got from a 1970 Corvette owner regarding the Bayliner:
I have the bay liner boat that looks like the James bond boat and it came out in a package, you had an option to buy a corvette and get a boat as a package deal. Can you tell me a little more about th

Well I guess I should have been more polite and just say I have never heard of it, but it could have been some regional promotion in another part of the country -- not the midwest. I know that regional Chevrolet dealers have done various kinds of promotions in the past, and even today. And while I have been a 1970 enthusiast since that time I do not necessarily know everything that went on. Perhaps someone reading this will have some knowledge.

Another thought -- if Bayliner or a successor is still in business they might have some long term employee -- and it would be very long-term by now -- who would know.

Terry, I didn't think you were being impolite at all. I share your thoughts on this about it being a possible regional Corvette dealership promotion. The only reference I found in relation to a 007 movie and a boat was a 1972 James Bond release called "Live and Let Die" which featured a Glastron GT150 boat built from Corvette and Cadillac body panels. As yet I have not found any information regarding a Bayliner boat, 007, and a 1970 Corvette.
          Thanks!

bayliner came to cumberland,md in the 80's, had two large buildings putting out a variety of fiberglass bayliner boats.they then left town about 5 years ago when the tax incentives expired. i believe they are still in buisness elsewhere in the states. i knew some of the employees and they have bitter fellings towards bayliner. mike

Bayliner is a wholy owned subsidary of Brunswick Corporation who also owns Mercury Marine. There's an old saying in the marine hobby............. Two things in life you can never get rid of, herpes and a Bayliner.

Thanks for the humor....it gave me a chuckle. That will stick with me for a long time. The person inquiring about the Bayliner/Corvette deal says that Bayliner was made by Puget Plastics in 1970.

Did Brunswick also own Harley Davidson for a while & ran it in the ground before selling it?

I think they were part of the AMF (American Machine and Foundry) back in 1969 till 1981.
