Looking for Advice with a Judging Issue

I just purchased four new radials for my 65 convert. that will be judged this June. I understand I will loose points with the radials even though they were mounted on the original rims. My spare is an original Firestone bias ply mounted on an original rim. My question is, should I also replace the spare with a radial so all are the same, or keep the original bias ply? I understand it should go back to as original as possible however I still want to drive the car to Bloomington and don't need old bias ply tires coming apart damaging the fenders as this is not a trailer queen.

Mike,

The spare tire is judged separately and doesn't have to match the tires on the car. You will receive more originality points with an original tire as long as it matches what could have been on the car from the factory.

Give some thought to what you will do if you get a flat while on the road. It might not be wise to drive on an original tire.

Keep the original spare if it is indeed "the original" or at least a correct replacement. It is my understanding that the spare wheel/tire is judged completely seperate from the 4 road wheels/tires. Good luck! Chip.
