Steel back guide headlights--educate me please

Bought one at a swap meet last weekend. Other than 12v, guide at the bottom, no aiming tabs,and working, I know nothing.

Have it's mate Reverend. Have a NOS Guide, no tabs, etc. I bought it for a truck restoration project that ain't gonna happen. Not looked at the '55 JM, but I have been told they may have been used in early '55. Only other application that I know of was some earlier high end cars that had 12V plus HD trucks with 12V systems. I have found reference back as far as 1939 for 12V systems. I believe those used a separate replaceable bulb similar to the earlier 6V headlamps

Mike; advertise it on Flea Bay as an early model and ask about $500 CANADAIN. I should sell quickly to someone that is paying a Restorer to do thie Vette. {:~)
