How can I find someone to Inspect a Mid Year Corvette before I buy it?

I am new to NCRS and am not sure if this is the place to post this but I am having trouble navigating the site. I am looking to buy a mid year vette and don't want to travel all around the country to inspect them. Does anybody know how to find somebody? ie. right now I am looking at a car in FT lauderdale but don't want to waste a trip there.

I'd start with contacting an official from the most local chapter to where the car is located to see if there is anyone who can help. This is a common request and you will find lots of people happy to help.

I agree with Joel. When you make the call be prepared to discuss what you are looking for. Meaning, are you looking for a car to restore, drive as is, a restoration that is finished, etc. Original engine, original parts or are you just looking at a body to make a resto-mod.

This will help whomever looks at the car to know what to ignore and what is important to see.

Contacting a local club is far different than contacting a local NCRS Chapter.
Most "Corvette clubs" are either independent or sanctioned by the NCCC, which is generally more interested in C5s, C6s, bling, cleaning contests and driving events.

If you are interested in an older Corvette and want a quality evaluation then the nearest NCRS Chapter can probably help.

I'm in Boca and just finished a restoration on a '64. I think you may have to be specific about the year you are looking at. There are variations from year to year. I feel I have become very knowledgable about 64s through my restoration but recognize that other C2s are different with obvious similarities and many subtitle differences. If I was serious about buying a midyear in various parts of the country I would not call an individual to look at the car unless he was a noted/qualified appraiser.
It would be worth spending the bucks for plane ticket, etc to pay someone like our own Chuck Berge, Dick Whittington, etc to go look at the car.
Not knocking my favorite club and it's members at all. Just saying that if were old JD looking I would spend the bucks and do the above.
