    Horns for 1957

While workinig at rewiring my 57 Corvette, I discovered that one of the horns is missing. Does anyone have the correct PN for the 2 horns (A note & F note)? Does anyone know if the horns from other Chevy's of those years are the same. I suspect that they were interchangeable but don't know for sure.
    Thanks,
    Ted von Kampen

    Re: Horns for 1957

    Ted,

Corvette horns are unique to Corvette only. Following information from the 5th Edition 56-7 JM: 1957 horns after approximately VIN # 1500are 339 low note & 340 high note. 1956 thru early 57 are 759 & 760.

Contact Joe Perri 312-307-1977 - Joe usually has several and does a great job rebuilding horns.

          Ted,
How did you make out in your search for 1 horn. I need 1 also...pass side for mine with bracket. Any help welcomed.

Isn't the only difference between the 57 Corvette horns and the 57 Chevrolet horns the bracket and it's location?
Enclosed are 3 photos of a 57 Chevrolet "325" horn that I have in my collection. These old horns usually do not work and must be taken apart and rebuilt. Are reproduction brackets available?

              Tom,
I did learn somethings. If your car has a VIN before 1500, then you need the earlier set PN's 759/760 which were also used on basic chevy's. These have shown up on ebay and I recently unsusccefully bid on a pair eventhough my VIN is 1837. If your number is over 1500, then the 339/340. These are apparently very rare. Only used for 1/2 a model year, and only corvette. They are scarce and thus expensive. read all my thread and you will see a name to call and he does have some. He rebuilds them. The one I have is not correct and is the High note. This guy identified this as a service replacement by Chevy. HOpe this helps.

Ted, Called Joe Peri and got the right story and have 1 put aside. I watched the same pair sell on ebay for $77.xx or so but Joe said the main difference is the Corvette only brackets being shorter in length and having the mounting holes offset casing mounting issues. He has a few of the 759/760's but no 339/340's....hard to find and expensive just like th 63 horns. Thought I would share the info.
