    C2 front sway bar install

When installing the rubber bushings for the front sway bar, does the front end have to be on the ground, i.e., the suspension is under load?

Reading through the archives, it says the control arm bushings have to be final torqued under load or the bushings will not have the correct " set or preload". I was wondering if the same applies to the front sway bar bushing.
I did read I will have to use longer bolts to compress the sway bar bushing so I want to be sure I grip the sway bar in it's corrrect position.

    Randy,

Yes, the fasteners for the sway bar were torqued to specs after the body was on the chassis and ride height was near specifications. That way, the bushings will be in their "relaxed" position 99.98% of their life. Also, it's much easier to load/install the link bolts and bushings when the link is in it's correct position.

      Thanks Michael

Are the brackets for the stabilizer bar installed correctly? I see they are not symmetrical but it looks like this is the only way they should go. The rubber bushing seems to be creeping out of the bracket on the inside. These are the old bushings.
