    1995 C4 Torch Red Carpet

Thinking of changing my carpet on my 1995 Corvette. Does anyone knows a source that sells torch red carpet that will not receive a juding deduction? The car is a Top Flight and I want to keep that standard.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Ed,

Without sounding too funny about it, you might be the first guy to change carpet on a 1995 and worry about judging.

I see that Auto Custom Carpets as well as Corvette America sell carpet for it.
I'd ask each to send you a sample of their red and see which you think is best.

      Patrick thanks for the response.

I know a few of them have it. I'll try your two suggestions and Ecklers as well. In terms of the judging, you know how touchy some judges can be. The material and color have to correct. Thank God for Tom Barr, he keeps things in perspective.

        Ed,

Ecklers is just a reseller so don't waste your time. Corvette America and ACC likely make their own. MidAmerica might make their own as well (just a guess).
Al Knock doesn't show carpet for cars this new but you could always call and ask.

          Ed,

I changed out the tan carpet on my 1990. I found a complete carpet set on e-bay from a 7k mi car that was like new. Car has been judged at the Nationals and received a Top Flight. As I recall it was from Contemporary Corvette in Bristol, Pa.

I changed out the graphite colored carpet in my 86 roadster and received only a minor 2 point deduction for some of the stitching that the regional and national judges did not like. I think I purchased the carpet set from either Ecklers, Mid-America or Corvette Central, don't remember which. I can look it up it you really need the information.

            FWIW.

Patrick you are right on point. Al Knock only sell carpeting for up to 82 Corvettes and ACC make them for Ecklers. I called ACC and ordered a few samples. I'll contact Mid America and Corvette America and see what they have.

George, great idea with the Contempoary Corvette guys. They have some great stock. Hey, maybe thet have the plastic Wagner headlamps I've been looking for. Guys, thanks for your feedback. I always make it a point to come first to this site for good advice. DSCN0646.JPGDSCN0823.jpgDSCN0647.JPG

I'd agree - an excellent used set is a good option too.
