1973 454 Oil Pan and power steering removal

Hi! I wanted to remove the oil pan to replace the oil pan gasket until I realized that I cannot drop the pan unless I remove the steering components. But now I am stuck. I do not know in which order I can remove which component, power steering cylinder and valve, steering rods, I am a bit lost.
I am a German living in Richmond BC and I am still missing a few vocabularies so sorry for not using the correct names of the parts.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Should be able to drop the idler arm located on the passenger's side that has two bolts and is bolted to the frame. The entire linkage can than be rotated downward to free space and access the oil pan

Gut dagen? How did I do? Do you have the '73 Chevrolet service manual? If not, you should purchase one. It's a lot more thorough than the Haynes or Chilton service books. Car looks good, how long have you owned it?

Thanks very much for the hint. I a removed the rods that connect to the tire and then these two bolts and it worked fine. I dropped the oil pan. I will now also take the chance to replace the power steering hoses and the sealings of the valve and the cylinder

Hi Rich, guten Tag! I have got the assembly manual but that is not always useful. I will go and look for a service manual. I bought the car in last October, so I own it for just 7 months. It drives very nice, the engine runs fine. I only started to work on the car because I mainly wanted to replace all bearings and bushings. I started with the back. In the front I will only replace the oil pan gasket, the power steering hoses and the valve and cylinder sealings. Oh yeah, and I will replace quite a few parts of the interior.
You must have been areal '73 lover!
