    C1 top bows

Does anyone know how to remove the broken/rusted top pad screws from the 2,3,4 bows in the convertible top frame.. I have used harden steel drill bits, I have tired the extractor tool... it failed, or maybe I did.. I cant find a bit that will drill into it all the way..it is very slow and then just dulls the bit. I can not put a top on with out it..

You need to buy better drill bits. Were the bows all rusted up? Why were you not able to get the screws out? Might want to invest in an impact screw driver.

      Terry,

I have used the Ivrin bits and the Dewalt brand. The bows had some surface rust on them from mice pee but they were sand blasted. The screws are stuck and some of the heads have broken off, so i have to drill

Would a grinder on a Dremmel tool and punch work to knok them out?
