Are the dates checked in judging these days on the blower motor? How far ahead of car build is blower motor dated? I have one #5044720 dated 3-71

Re: Date 0n heater blower motor
The usual rule I read in the archives and the Judging Guides (with exception for window glass and maybe a few other items) is anything up to six months prior to build date is acceptable for most parts. My blower motor is dated 12-66, the car was built Jan. 11, 1967.
I don't know if the blower motor date is judged or not, but I suspect not. There is nothing in the 67JG about the date being judged.- Top

Re: Date 0n heater blower motor
Ralph, I don't think that the judges can read the dates on the blower motors the date is very small and hard to see. and if the motor has never been removed or cleaned it just makes it harder.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

In my experiences blower dating wasn't part of the judging process.- Top

Re: Date 0n heater blower motor
Hey Mark, don't be so hard on Ralph. I had a ride in his 435/M40 at the Boston National in 1985. That convinced me that ALL 435s need M40. They need that torque multiplication from the torque convertor to overcome their mass.Terry- Top
