Re: 69 BB oil cap
The pictures look just like my original 1970 SB cap. I don't know why a 1969 BB would be different, but WTFDIK?Terry- Top

Re: 69 BB oil cap
My original early 68 has the same square rivet however, during spinning/peening, it looks sort of round but definitely started out square.Jack Corso

They were both the same part number----GM #3851735. Every original of these that I've seen, including an example I purchased in 1970 had the "square" rivet configuration on the inside. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 69 BB oil cap
I agree with you Joe. I was less strident in my original post in an effort to appear not to be too critical of whoever judged Brad's car. I have been in situations at chapter meets where I was judging outside my comfort zone. One sometimes has to do what one has to do.Terry- Top

Re: 69 BB oil cap
Yes I believe the triangular retainers were all unfinished (plain) steel. Rocker arm cover bolts were silver colored plate. I believe zinc, but I am sure some will say cad. Now let's see what others have to say.Terry- Top
