Repo Goodyear Power Cushions 5/8 white wall tires???

I am looking at buying a set of new Repo Goodyear Power Cushions bias ply 5/8 white wall tires for our 1966 corvette. Has anyone purchased these particular tires? How are the quality? Does anyone have pictures of them on there car? Was this style actually a tire offered on 1966 corvettes. Seems like I see alot more of the 5/8 whitewall Bfgoodrich silvertown on 66 cars??? Whats more correct for an early 1966 car in a 5/8 whitewall configuration the Bfgoodrich silvertown, Firestone deluxe champion, or the goodyears power cushion???

    Matthew -

Do you have the current '66 JG? It lists Goodyear, Firestone, U.S. Royal, B.F. Goodrich, and General all as correct in a 5/8" whitewall (or blackwall).

I purchased a set of repro Goodyear Redlines for my 67. They are nice. They ride nice, hold air well, no flat spots to speak of after sitting for a long period of time. I assume they are the same tires as the whitewalls you are considering except for the color. The look of the Goodyears is soooo much nicer in my opinion than any of the other repro bias ply tires out on the market. Only my opinion...

I purchased a set of Goodyear Powercushion 775x15 WSW for my 67. Can't comment on life as these are usually in a trailer when going down the road. They are about 7 yrs old. No weather checking but the car is stored inside.

When I do drive it they don't handle well compared to the radials of today. So don't expect great handling if you plan to drive your car

Good for trailer queens, bad for driving. I had some, they did flat spot when cold, and like all bias plies, they wander over the road and are poor on handling and turns.

Let me clarify, when I say they ride nice I mean nice for a bias ply. There is no comparison to the ride on a radial. Probably explains why I have 3 sets of tires and wheels for my cars. Show, close shows and far away shows...Good luck...ARA
