What is the switch under the dash marked AIR on a '54 Corvette?
It looks like it has 3 positions. What is it supposed to do?

Are you talking about the lever that opens the cowl vent?

No. This is a little switch that looks like a wall mounted light switch. It has a black body and a white knob that says AIR on it.Comment

I've never seen anything like that on any 53, 54, or 55 Corvette I've ever examined. Can you post a pic?

Certainly not an original item. I have no idea what it could be. Maybe an auxiliary fan?
