Antenna brkt and nut plate questions

My 65 vert is missing the power antenna bracket and nut plate. Bought new ones and am ready to install but have a couple of questions. Is the nut plate bonded to the inside of the rear wheelwell or just held in place by the bracket bolts? Also, was the nut plate in place when the undercoating was applied to the inside of the wheelwells and thus has undercoating on it?

    Thanks for your input.

The nut plate is loose. The ground plate is behind the wheelwell and is not painted.

Agree with Greg in that the nut plate is loose. I think you're refering to the P.Ant mount bracket, and not the ground plane, and if so, this is painted (dipped ?) black. Pic is of the mount bracket taken from the perspective of the floor, looking vertically up (you can see the hole for the antenna shaft). can't answer your undercoat question, as one of my '65s is pretty sparse that high up, and the other looks like the undercoat ended at the inboard edge of the nut plate.

Thanks for confirming that the nut plate is loose. I will then assume that the antenna and the nut plate were installed after the wheelwells were undercoated and blacked out. Therefore the nut plate would not have any undercoating.

Agree with Wayne - my 65 has no sign of undercoating on plate or ground strap.
