I have a judging question: The well-worn spare for my 1970 is a nylon, Firestone Wide-Oval tire that I think was original to the car. The tires currently on the car are reproduction polyester Wide-Ovals. For judging purposes, would I be better off to have the spare be a new polyester Wide-Oval or the well-worn orginal nylon Wide-Oval? Thanks for your help.

Re: Judging Wide Oval Tires
Don't have my judging reference manual in front of me, but I believe the polyester tires will receive more of a deduction. If my memory serves me, the tread also differs from the originalOriginally posted by Rick Aleshire (38392)four repops on the ground get a THREE point standard deduction and then any condition points - spare judged separate, so you should get ALL the originality points but then lose a couple on condition - would really need to eye-ballDick Whittington- Top

You think you suffer, ya aughta be in my shoes.Originally posted by Rick Aleshire (38392)agree with PapaSmurf the JRM needs to be consulted - I was giving generality on typical THREE points standard deduction - but, then suffer from massive CRS!Dick Whittington- Top
